The fractional condensation unit is a multifunctional bench for the condensation of pyrolysis vapors in distinct temperature cuts. It features two temperature-controlled bubblers, jacketed and independently regulated in their operating temperature, and a jacketed electrostatic precipitator (ESP) installed between them. The cooling media for the jackets allows to reach -20 °C, while the working fluid for the bubblers is a mineral oil, unmiscible with the vast majority of the condensation products originated from biomass thermochemical conversion. Three distinct cuts can be collected at the bottom of each of the sections.
